There has been considerable speculation that producer Dil Raju, who acquired the Telugu rights of Toxic, has suffered a major financial setback after the film received disastrous talk today. However, the actual business arrangement reportedly presents a very different picture for the seasoned businessman. The Telugu rights deal is understood to have been structured as a returnable advance agreement, allowing the investment to be returned if the film does not perform as expected. This significantly limits Dil Raju’s downside and protects him from carrying the entire burden of the film’s poor reception. Adding further value to the deal, Yash has reportedly committed to working with Dil Raju on another project. More importantly, with Yash holding the complete South Indian rights of Ramayana, Dil Raju is reportedly in line to receive its Nizam or potentially complete Telugu states rights.
